Kingston Sunrise Rotary: Small but Mighty

Some of our recent projects:
- Purchased an automated external defibrillator for UPAC.
- Created a garden at the Rondout Visitor Center.
- Helping to maintain the Kingston Peace Park & flag.
- Annual Christmas gifts for residents of Academy Green.
- “Little Blue Bookshelves” on-going distribution of books to children at the Family Inn shelter, Queen’s Galley, domestic violence center, teen shelter and the Family Court children’s center.
- Major Donor for Renovation of the Forsyth Park Nature Center.
- Created a Library at the Kingston Children’s Home and contributed to their dormitory capital campaign.
- Hosting annual Christmas Light Tours of Kingston.
- Donations to PolioPlus effort, tsunami relief, a hospital in Africa, water projects in Thailand and El Salvador, Hurricane Katrina relief and relief for 2006 flooding in Livingston Manor, NY.
- 2004 - Hosted a German exchange student for one year.
- 2008 - sponsoring an out-going exchange student from Kingston and an incoming student from Belgium.
- Donated new video equipment to the Boys and Girls Club.
- Purchased new front doors for the Rondout Neighborhood Center.
- Providing complimentary meal cards for families of patients in critical care units at Kingston and Benedictine Hospitals.
- Annual “$250 Service Above Self” awards for local high school graduating seniors involved in community service.
- Supported Families of the Wounded, Inc., which provides financial aid to the families of severely wounded service men and women who are receiving medical treatment at McGuire Veterans Hospital in Virginia.
- Monetary donations to the Kingston Land Trust, the Reher Bakery Restoration Project and Jewish Family Services.
- Volunteering and monetary donations for the Queens Galley.
